Had some great stormy weather on the prom today. Unable to resist a good wave, we went out into a shower of hale. The hale didn’t last long but it was a great crunchy texture to walk on, and as the waves washed across the prom they pushed it into interesting ripple patterns, which were a handy indication of where it should be safe to walk without getting soaked.

There was also some colourful debris at this point, where the waves washed a lot of used party poppers out of a bin – presumably left there on New Year’s Eve.
